I was assigned to create a bold, excited type- lead camping for an exhibition for the design museum. It was an exhibition that heroes the profile of the underrepresented people in the design industry. The strap line was “MALE, PALE & STALE”. My approach to this brief was to display the struggles Indian women go through in order to simply be educated and the gender inequality in India. From Indian’s top 10 art graphic designers, only 1 of them is a female and the rest are males, alongside that the top 5 Indian fashion designers, again; 1 female and the rest are males. In some cases, women need to be married in order to get a highly paid job.
